Glassfiber cleanroom air filter for air handling unit filter replacement

Cleanroom air filter is a key component of the air cleaning air handling unit system. At present, the filter material used in China is ultra-fine glass fiber to filter particles larger than 0.3 microns. The primary and intermediate filtration of cleanroom air filter are mainly used to remove larger particles to prolong the service life of HEPA filter. Reduce the frequency of replacing H13 or H14 cleanroom air filters to reduce air handling unit operating costs.

In order to ensure the cleanliness of the air handling unit, the installation of the cleanroom air filter must comply with the requirements of the design drawings and industry guidelines.

Each air handling unit can be divided into H13 or H14 grade, as well as F7, F8 grade, and G3, G4 grade. Three-stage filtration can reduce operating costs, and carbon filters can be added to remove toxic gases or other odors.

The replacement cycle of the air handling unit filter is generally 3 months for the initial effect, half a year for the middle effect, and 1-2 years for the high efficiency. Depending on the environment of use, if the surrounding air quality is poor, the replacement cycle needs to be shortened.

install cleanroom air filter

When installing the cleanroom air filter, ensure that the airflow direction is consistent with the direction of the arrow on the outer frame. Its sealing generally adopts two kinds of mechanical compression or gel seal. For clean systems with strict cleanliness requirements of grade 5 or above, some use knife edge or gel seal sealing devices.

Inspection after installation

Leak testing is required when commissioning new cleanrooms and clean areas, or when existing installations need to be retested, or after replacing a Cleanroom air filter.

In addition, efficient leak detection can be used as part of a quality investigation when cleanroom monitoring shows deteriorating air quality, or when product sterility tests fail, and media simulation fill tests fail.
